I am a Swedish born photographer currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
With grandparents taking me on a road trip at the age of 12 to ease the anxieties of starting high school, I found my calling at 5 am on the shores of the Dala River, where its tiny islands stood out like black silhouettes in the thick mist blanketing the landscape. The printouts from the point-and-shoot camera I used to document the scene are still around somewhere, with a fluorescent date stamp in the corner and all.
Since then, my life has centred around photography, and I have built my practice in editorial and commercial fashion, beauty and advertising photography.
Growing up in the Swedish Archipelago, my early photography was all about being in the right place at the right time, a documentary perspective that only deepened when I spent three years sailing the oceans with my family, moving through countries across Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.
After many years of exploring, Australia became home. I graduated from RMIT in 2011, and during those studies, my photography shape-shifted into something completely different, evolving from a documentary approach into a deliberate, considered craft rooted in Fashion and commercial image-making. I went on to build my foundations, working out of leading commercial studios in both Melbourne and Sydney, developing a practice grounded in collaboration, expertise and a deep respect for the brief. The work has introduced me to some remarkable people along the way, including internationally recognised models Adut Akech, Andreja Pejic, Duckie Thot and Gianluca Alessi.
My Nordic upbringing quietly informs everything I do, bringing an instinct for the understated, the considered and the sophisticated. Over the years, I have worked with some of Australia’s most loved brands and retailers, including Chadstone, Decjuba, Forever New, Politix, Gazman, Perri Cutten, Cable, Birkenstock, New Balance, Jac+Mooki, Lilybod and JayJays, as well as contributing to publications including Black Magazine, Odalisque, The Forumist and Laud.
When the camera is down, you’ll find me by the ocean or in the garden, raising a wonderfully wild four-year-old and making my way back to Europe every summer to connect with where I came from.
